MELC Philosophy

At Maraylya Early Learning Centre, we aim to provide a friendly, caring and educational environment for children, parents and staff.

This will involve:

Ensuring the needs of children, families and staff are met in a safe, secure and welcoming environment.
Providing a stimulating environment for the children that encourages co-operation, creativity, investigation, independence and decision making.
Encouraging and valuing reflection, flexibility and adaptation
Creating an environment of respect for the children, their families and staff members, in which each individual is valued and considered important regardless of gender, cultural background or ability
Employing staff members who see their role as caregivers, educators, and role models: who understand children and value their differences, and enjoy the challenges and rewards of child care
Developing programs that reflect the social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth needs of children and cater specifically for individual differences
Working closely with families and encouraging open, two-way, communication so as to provide the best possible care for the children
Providing opportunities for the children to enjoy a wide variety of nutritional foods from various cultures
Providing the relevant support, resources and knowledge required by staff and parents in their role as carers
Becoming a valuable member and supporter of the local community and developing positive working relationships within that community
